I’m Paul Joel the author of a religious novel “A Man Like You and Me A Supernatural Adventure Story” ISBN-10 1088125522. It is about the request of Our Lady of Fatima for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart with the bishops on 10/13/1917. I’m the physician tasked with getting this done in the book and in real life. Not in the novel – On 3/25/2019 I was diagnosed with a rare disease – Hashimoto’s Encephalitis. About 95% of my long term memory and all of my short term memory were wiped away and I had a severe peripheral neuropathy. Despite 2 years of chemotherapy, steroids and anti-seizure medications nothing changed so the treatment was stopped. The parts of my brain responsible for memory were destroyed on the MRI. Then suddenly on 4/29/2022 miraculously my memory suddenly came back! The MRI is unchanged but my memory is perfect. So the book is about miracle and now I’m a living miracle of sorts.
