Technology and Empire (1969) by George Grant may be a helpful book for some during this time of soul searching regarding who William Jewell is and her direction.
"Originally published in 1969, Technology and Empire offers a brilliant analysis of the implications of technology-driven globalization on everyday life. The author of Lament for a Nation, George Grant has been recognized as one of Canada’s most significant thinkers. In this sweeping essay collection, he reflects on the extent to which technology has shaped our modern culture" (https://houseofanansi.com/products/technology-and-empire).

I feel that William Jewell, like the prodigal son, is far from home. "And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him" (Luke 15:16).

I would never have survived a state university without the strength I received at William Jewell.

Thank you Dr. Jewell.
