You may have seem him running around the Quad, or perhaps you have a much more personal relationship with him and he’s played with a toy or chewed on a bone while you took a test. Regardless, the cardigan welsh corgi Brecon approaches celebrity status around William Jewell College’s campus.
Brecon is a purebred and comes from a successful lineage. His father participated in the Westminster Kennel Club dog show while one of his sisters was featured in an ALPO commercial.
Brecon has spent all of his five years, soon to be six, with Dr. Elaine Reynolds. Dr. Reynolds said he is definitely protective and describes him as a “mama’s boy.”
For fun, Brecon enjoys coming to the College. He likes to socialize with the students, and the campus gives him plenty of opportunities to go for a run. We asked Brecon what his favorite part of campus was.
“Bark, bark,” said Brecon.
This is his first year in a costume for Halloween, and he is excited to show it off for the students. Brecon decided to go for a classic costume, a pumpkin, because of his shape and his overall love for autumn.
