Christian Wyatt, sophomore biochemistry major, discussed the appeal of a small college.
“I just like the idea of a Liberal Arts college, the smaller environment. I did the big state school thing; I went to Mizzou. It’s hard to find a group or find yourself. It’s like a city. It’s hard to navigate.
“I transferred from three schools. I went to MCC, and I did some community college work in Colorado. I live in Midtown, about 20 minutes away.
“Biology has always been my favorite subject and I’d heard about the research opportunities here. Going back to big versus small schools, your first and second level classes are mostly taught by TAs. You’re in a big stadium seat. I just really liked being able to be one-on-one with professors and doing something that matters,” said Wyatt.
