From headlining the 2019 Coachella, winning her first grammy and making music history Ariana Grande shows the world how to make a come back from dark times.

Ariana Grande released her new album “thank u, next” on Feb. 8, and needless to say, fans were excited. The music video for the hit song “thank u, next,” was filled with 90s pop-culture references as well as famous artists and influencers. It undeniably had all of Ariana’s fans pumped for new songs. The album was a huge success and it has been at the top of multiple charts all around the world.

This being the album post Miller’s death and the break off of her engagement to Pete Davidson, everyone had high hopes for the new songs. The album fulfilled everyone’s expectations with strong, emotional and meaningful songs. The fans’ response to the album was huge and the speculations about what or who each song is about made “thank u, next” even more popular.

The album has a range of songs that touch on break ups, relationships and not needing men at all. Billboard described the album as full of “deep, bass-driven bangers with trap beats alternating with airy, sad ballads.” With the hits “7 rings,” “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” and “thank you, next,” Ariana Grande became the first artist to hold the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart simultaneously since The Beatles.

Grande talked to Billboard in a extensive interview about her process of writing, the emotions and the meaning behind lyrics for her. “A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it’s actually a super-sad chapter,” Grande told Billboard, “This [album is] not particularly uplifting.”

This comeback from the “Sweetener” era shows how powerful Grande is and feels now. She makes a statement on how she’s a strong and independent woman who needs no man to be happy. The fact that “Sweetener” won a Grammy while “thank you, next” dominates the top charts shows the influence and quality of Grande’s work.

Grande’s world tour starts March 18, and there is much worry surrounding safety after the suicide bombing that killed 22 people took place during her show in Manchester. Many security precautions are being taken so everyone can have a safe experience.

2019 is going to be Ariana Grande’s year. The successful record breaking album, new Grammy in hands and a loyal fan base she has everything to make this the best year of her career.
