Weekly events preview #1

For first-year students looking to get involved on campus, or for students looking for something to do, these are some events for the week of Sept. 9:

For animal lovers, there is going to be a meeting of the Association for Animal Rights on the top floor of the PLC at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Snacks will be provided for hungry students who want to save some cardinal dollars.

For any business, biology, engineering or related majors, there is a biosciences industry career fair at UMKC on Wednesday at 8 a.m.. Those looking for internships or jobs after college should go and bring a resume. Sign up by emailing career development.

In more job-related events, there is a Life After Jewell job hunting session during Jewell Time on Wednesday. It is located in room 221 of the Yates-Gill College Union.

The women’s soccer team is playing this Thursday at 3:30 pm at Greene Stadium. Be sure to go out and support the soccer team.

Lambda Chi Alpha’s Watermelon Bust is on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the First-Year Triangle. All proceeds go to Feeding America. Relieve the stress of college by smashing watermelons while also supporting a good cause. T-shirts are being sold in the Union leading up to the event.

Finally, be sure to come out and support the football team this Saturday at 3 p.m. at Greene Stadium. They are looking to keep the momentum going after a win last week, so come out this weekend in all your Cardinal gear.

Is there a way I could get free food due to the fact that this was published on the 10th while the Association for Animal Rights meeting was on Monday so I couldn’t go back in time.
