Nathan Wyman
Nathan Wyman is the Director of the Jewell Theatre Company. His favorite restaurant is Pierpont's at Union Station and his favorite movie is "Barcelona." A student said of Nathan Wyman, "He is super passionate about theatre and is so understanding. He makes a lot of people feel like they belong at Jewell."
Dr. Rose Reynolds
Dr. Rose Reynolds is the chair of the Biology department. She loves Twenty-One Pilots, and her favorite local restaurant is Mi Hacienda. A student said of Dr. Reynolds, "She adds fun jokes and videos to all her lectures, and she's always trying to make her class more inclusive. She spends a lot of her personal time helping so many people, and her hard work doesn't go unnoticed."
Dr. Gina Lane
Dr. Gina Lane is the chair of the Communication department. Her favorite movie is "Casablanca," and a career she considered besides academia was broadcasting. A student said of Dr. Lane, "Gina cares deeply about her students and would do anything to help them succeed. She gives helpful feedback and always makes students feel supported."
Dr. Christopher Wilkins
Dr. Wilkins is the chair of the History department. He would like to travel to New Zealand, and his favorite movie is "Interstellar." A student said of Dr. Wilkins, "He is easily my all-time favorite professor. He pushes his students to be their best and is always there to offer support. I wish I could be his student forever because he made me fall in love with history all over again."
Pharamond Guice
Mr. Guice is the director of academic achievement and teaches CTI 150: Identity and Society. A career he considered was becoming a NASCAR Driver, and his favorite movie is "The Bourne Identity." A student said of Mr. Guice, "He really cares about his students. I love that we learn a new fun fact about him every class period."
Dr. Gary Armstrong
Dr. Armstrong is a member of the Political Science department. His favorite restaurant is Lidia's, and a hobby he enjoys is cooking. A student said of Dr. Armstrong, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Armstrong during my time at Jewell. He’s a great professor who makes content engaging while also facilitating thoughtful discussion in the classroom.”
Dr. David Lisenby
Dr. Lisenby is the chair of the Spanish department. He considered a career in medicine, and his favorite hobby is gardening. A student said of Dr. Lisenby, "“He offers insightful commentary during our discussions in class that often leave me with an expanded perspective on the subject. He cares deeply about the topics he covers in his courses as well as the success of his students.”
Dr. Jason Morrill
Dr. Morrill is the chair of the Chemistry department. He describes his ideal Saturday as a day when he is "in a tree before dawn." A student said of Dr. Morrill, "He is the realest man on this campus. You would never expect an organic chemistry class to double as a comedy class, but it does."
Dr. Keli Braitman
Dr. Braitman is the chair of the psychological science department. Her favorite movie is "The Sound of Music" and her favorite local restaurant is Ginger Sue's. A student said of Dr. Braitman, "She is the sweetest human, has the cutest dog, and always brings snacks to class. She made my statistics class somehow enjoyable? A miracle. I love her."
Dr. Chris McCoy
Dr. Chris McCoy is a theatre professor. He considered becoming a chef, and his dream travel destination is Greece. A student said of Dr. McCoy, "He always makes an effort to say hello to his students when he sees them around campus. He is passionate about what he does and his classes are engaging and useful."
Dr. Robert Wells
Dr. Wells is a Spanish professor. He considered becoming a psychologist, and a hobby he enjoys is collecting vinyl records. A student said of Dr. Wells, "I learned more Spanish in a few weeks of Dr. Wells' class than I did in two years of high school Spanish. He is really good at what he does and works hard to be accomodating to his students."
Dr. Debbie Chasteen
Dr. Debbie Chasteen is a communication professor. Her favorite local restaurant is Tasty Thai, and a career she considered was becoming a veterinarian. A student said of Dr. Chasteen, "She never fails to brighten my day. She is always willing to help any student and the Jewell community wouldn't be the same without her."
Dr. Elizabeth Sperry
Dr. Sperry is the chair of the Philosophy department. Her favorite restaurant is Swagat, and her least favorite course she took in college was Physical Education. A student said of Dr. Sperry, "She is one of the best professors I've ever had. She knows how to push you to improve. She's absolutely hilarious."
Dr. Ruth Williams
Dr. Williams is an English professor. She enjoys running, and a career she considered besides academia was becoming a veterinarian. A student said of Dr. Williams, "She is one of the kindest, most dedicated professors I know. She's so inspiring, writing and publishing amazing work while encouraging students to do the same."
