The top 24 bathrooms on campus. Ranked.
24. Yates-Gill College Union (Cage Level)
This bathroom just barely made it onto our list. Some say The Cage level bathroom in Yates-Gill Student Union rivals that of a minimum security prison, but others praise its privacy and single stall style. Whether you love it or hate it, this bathroom comes in at number 24.
23. Mabee Center
If you’re not a student athlete, and I am not, chances are high that you have never set foot in these stalls. The Mabee Center bathrooms find themselves on our list because they are the only bathrooms around this area of campus.
22. Senior House Guest Bathroom
The Senior House has an excellent guest bathroom with a spacious, single stall set-up. However, accessing the house is a bit difficult if you don’t know a member of the baseball team.
21. The Office of Student Life
Getting down to the bottom level of the Union can be a tricky task, but once you find yourself down there, a pretty decent bathroom awaits you. It is a good place to cry about failing a midterm, some sources say. I wouldn’t know.
20. White Science Center
White Science offers two levels of Grade-A bathrooms. The third floor by the Physics department is less frequently traveled, but many actually prefer the second floor bathrooms for various reasons.
“I’m a White Science Quad level kind-of guy,” an anonymous senior said. Whether you’re a quad person or a physics person, we can all agree that White Science Center provides Jewell students with some adequate bathrooms.
19. Psychology Department
Coming in a number 20 is the William Jewell Psych Department bathroom. Where is this bathroom? Well, you’ll have to go on a journey to figure that out. Part of the fun of this bathroom is the air of mystery that surrounds it. (hint: check out Curry Hall, if you happen to know where that is)
18. Jewell Hall Second Floor
The only Jewell Hall bathrooms that take a spot on our list are the ones on the 2nd floor. The bottom floor is a crammed one-seater and the top floor is too crowded, but the 2nd floor is just right. Chances are you’ll find a sense of space and peace in these stalls.
17. Gano Assembly
Gano Chapel offers two bathrooms, but one is definitely better than the other . . . this one is not the better bathroom. Gano assembly has its perks: well hidden with a good working lock. Ultimately it’s not farther down on the list because its rather difficult to tell which bathroom is the men’s and which is the women’s.
16. First Year Residence Hall Guest Bathrooms
Even if you’re not a guest or a first-year, getting to use the Ely guest bathroom is a treat. Most first-year guest bathrooms are spacious and have nice sinks. Many say that Ely is best, followed by Browning then Eaton. “I used to go there to ‘fill up my water bottle’ all the time,” Simone Stewart, junior and former Ely resident said regarding her old residence hall. Apparently Ely truly is the best place to Be-ly.
15. Fraternity Circle Guest Bathrooms
A step above the first year bathrooms is only a quick drive away at Fraternity Circle. All you have to do is get inside the door and answer the question “Who do you know here?” Afterwards, a host of wonderful bathrooms await you. “They’re very convenient, especially if you’re already there,” Grace Webber, first year said. She praised the Lamda Chi Alpha house in particular, mostly because that was the only house she had been to. Overall, they lose a higher ranking because of their distance from campus.
14. Pryor Learning Commons Second Floor
The Pryor Learning Commons is the newest building on campus, therefore it is home to the newest bathrooms on campus. Sometimes new doesn’t mean nice, but the PLC stands out above the rest in terms of restrooms. The second floor is home to not only the quiet floor, but also quiet toilets.
13. The Office of Admissions in Brown Hall
If you’re looking for privacy and scared high school seniors, look no further than the Office of Admission in Brown Hall. This bathroom is notable for its obscure location, warm tones and cool seats.
12. Your Residence Hall Bathroom
Ah, yes: the pot you must get used to. During move-in week you were probably hesitant to use it for fear of alienating your hallmates, but now you know the perfect time to sneak in. You have a favorite stall and a favorite bathroom time. Enjoy, my friends, enjoy.
11. Brown Hall Ground Floor
Deep in the bowels of Brown Hall is the one of the best places to empty yours. Art department students have tried to keep this room hidden away, but theatre and communications students have discovered this hidden gem. Enjoy the warm color palette of the room and bask in the privacy of walking down two flights of stairs.
10. “The Pink Bathroom”
In the office of the President and Provost there exists an insanely pink bathroom. Walking into it is the slightest bit jarring, but ultimately the bathroom is top notch. It earns a spot in our top ten because it is almost always empty and is always very clean.
9. Gano Basement
The second of two bathrooms in Gano Chapel is located down a flight of stairs and then down a small hallway. The journey to the restroom is well worth it for the vast expanse of toilet options and little traffic.
8. Yates Gill Union Top Floor
The top floor of the Union is home to a variety of meeting halls and a variety of toilets. If you’re attending a lecture and feel the urge, the bathroom is only a short distance away from every room. Had too much dairy in your coffee from the Perch? No need to fear, the top floor bathrooms are here.
7. Schumaker Hall Guest Bathrooms
Any guest, or resident, of Schumaker Hall will tell you that the guest restrooms, all four of them, are the best places to slip away. It makes sense, for it can be the slightest bit awkward to ask to use one of the suite-style bathrooms. Many praise its privacy and nice, floral scent as well as its Panhellenic Love.
6. Pillsbury Music Building First Floor
Most people on campus do not know what happens in Pillsbury, but music majors are keenly aware of the building and its excellent bathrooms. The first floor, home to a sea of practice rooms, has a great two seater bathroom. The toilets are quiet, and no one frequents the floor, much to the voice and instrument faculties chagrin. “Yeah, this one is probably my favorite [bathrooms],” Maddie Douglas, sophomore Oxbridge music major said. “But I don’t really have a preference because this is college and privacy doesn’t exist here anyway.”
5. Ely Wellness Center
The first bathroom in our top five is located in the Ely Wellness Center. If you ever wanted a Mardi Gras themed bathroom to visit during your morning workout, this is the toilet for you. “It’s great!” Erin Melton, first-year said. “No one is ever in there, so when you come out of the stall looking sweaty and tired no one is there to judge you.”
4. Pryor Center For Leadership Development
The Pryor Center for Leadership Development is located slightly off campus, but every nonprofit major and Pryor Fellow will tell you that what it lacks in location it makes up for in excellent bathrooms. If you’re looking for the most private bathroom in Liberty, Mo., look no further than the bottom of the horrible stairs leading down from Jewell Hall.
3. Marston Hall Fourth Floor
There is a secret all Jewell Nursing majors have been keeping from us since the Marston Nursing Simulation Lab opened: a secret, ID required bathroom. This toilet has so many amenities that they are almost impossible to list. Included are free feminine hygiene products, deodorant, and glade room spray. This is quite possibly the best bathroom on campus, but unless you’re a nursing major you’ll probably never get to experience its amazingness.
2. Pryor Learning Commons Quad Level
The top floor of the Pryor Learning Commons is arguably the busiest, but the bathrooms are never too crowded. These stalls take the second best spot because of their convenience, cleanliness and comfort. If you have an after-the-Beak emergency, the third floor is the best place for you to be. Enjoy a stall with a view.
1. Pryor Learning Commons Bottom Floor
The number one bathroom on campus is the Pryor Learning Commons bottom floor. Not only is this restroom incredibly spacious, but its regular vacancy ensures a nice, peaceful experience. The artwork adorned walls ooze class, and the fancy dryers will leave your hands nice and slightly damp. For optimal experience, utilize the stall farthest from the door.
